From the annals of minor hypocrisy

I know some enterprising young girls who like to set up lemonade stands on warm days.  Lucky for them, they live in a well-to-do neighborhood where folks tend to tip high (“a lot of times,” they tell me breathlessly, “people give us a dollar and say to keep the change” for the 50 cent cups). Ginni Thomas & Tea Parties

Ok, let’s start with a few facts about Virginia “Ginni” Thomas: 1) She is married to US SC Justice Clarence Thomas. 2) She founded and is president of a tea party-related “think tank and advocacy group called Liberty Central.” On the website for said organization, she posted an open letter that starts “Dear Liberty Central Patriots,” in which she assures readers that Believe me, we are not alone! Adventures in Hypocrisy

For your daily dose of schadenfraude… If you haven’t seen it yet, it’s worth watching this video of Indiana Rep. Mark “Morally and Physically Repellent” Souder, the family values-touting Republican who just announced his resignation after admitting his affair with a staffer.  In it, the woman with whom he was cheating on his wife interviews Souder about his passionate support for abstinence education.  Ha.  Real glad he was doing his best to keep teens from engaging in sex outside of the sacred bonds of marriage.  The video, which up until yesterday was featured on Souder’s website but...
