Rand Paul is just afraid of imaginary beer

The Fancy Farm Picnic, a picnic held by the St. Jerome parish, is the traditional beginning of the campaign season in Kentucky. It’s a huge affair: so huge, in fact, that in 1985,  it was recognized in the Guinness Book of World Records as the “World’s Largest Picnic” for the consumption of 15,000 pounds of mutton, pork, and chicken at the 1982 picnic. Since it’s such an important event, you’d of course expect that Senate candidates Jack Conway and Rand Paul would have to make appearances. Democratic candidate Jack Conway made some news this weekend when he...

Sharron Angle believes Democrats are breaking the First Commandment

I may have ended my last post by noting that there is, indeed, nothing new under the sun. However, this sounds actually novel to me. Sharron Angle, the Republican vying to unseat Harry Reid in the Senate, who has said some ridiculous things in the past, is accusing the Democratic leadership—President Obama, Reid, and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi—of making the government into a god and thereby breaking the First Commandment. Jon Ralston reports that in an April 21 interview with TruNews Christian Radio’s Rick Wiles, Angle said: “And these programs that you mentioned — that Obama has...

Sharron Angle finally talks to reporters, runs away

You can imagine that reporters were delighted to finally get to cover a Sharron Angle press function. As we’ve noted before, she’s been pretty shy about talking to reporters at all (unless she can get some fund-raising coin out of it). Of course, this could be because she tends to say ridiculous things when put in front of anything that could record her. So, when she invited some reporters to a press function,  the last thing you’d picture happening is her avoiding the press, right? Well… U.S. Senate candidate Sharron Angle invited local media to attend a...

Meet Rick Barber, Patriot for Congress

Sure, he’s no Les Philip, or Dale Peterson, or even Tim James, but Rick Barber’s got a pretty inspiring ad here. Look at that: Founding Fathers. And they hated taxes just like he does. I actually really love how Rick conflates health care reform and the IRS, while totally and unceremoniously diminishing the Founders’ motivation for revolt to just a mere “tea tax.”

"HAHA U ARE IN A LOT OF TROUBLE YOU CAN DELETE BUT THE WHOLE WORLD KNOWS WAT YOU SED BITCH"

Oops? The Republican vying for Rep. Jerry McNerney’s seat in California’s 11th district, Brad Goehring, posted the following to his Facebook account yesterday: If I could issue hunting permits, I would officially declare today opening day for liberals. The season would extend through November 2 and have no limits on how many taken as we desperately need to ‘thin’ the herd. Of course, he claims it was a joke. And, maybe he didn’t hear about the last few times conservatives made “shooting at liberals” jokes. The post has been deleted, so maybe figured it out. But, as...
