So, there were a flood of posts this afternoon, many of them rapidly descending down the page without being given the spot of honor at the top that they deserved. There was some great writing that went on and it would be a shame if anyone missed it. It only seems proper and fitting that they be collected here briefly, so you might see what you missed and peruse it at your leisure this weekend.
- Lady Blaga brought the insight on President Obama\’s likely nominee to fill John Paul Stevens\’ Associate Justice spot on the Supreme Court, Diane Wood.
- Poplicola got introspective and poignant with his meditation on South Park, parody and patriotism and brought the funny with a Mr Show clip not to be forgotten.
- The Ghost of Hemingway\’s Gun caught SEC employees with their pants down (figuratively and plausibly literally) and brought the knowledge on hangover cures and the Bloody Mary.
- And, though not today, Estes continued his yeoman\’s work on covering the British elections, liveblogging debate #2.
- Viola might pop in over the weekend to review the next Doctor Who episode, \”The Beast Below\”, but last week\’s is here if you wanna get caught up before the next one airs Saturday night.
NBA and NHL playoffs are in full swing (Go Caps, Bruins and Celtics!), the Nats are at home to the Dodgers all weekend and the Red Sox play the O\’s in Fenway. Big weekend in the English Premier League as my Tottenham Hotspur (at 1st place Manchester United) and Estes\’ Manchester City (at 3rd place Arsenal) continue their battle for 4th place. AS Roma play Sampdoria in the only continental match worth perusing. Also, if you\’re into it, don\’t forget that the NFL Draft is now a three day affair, with two rounds tonight and a bunch more tomorrow.
Enjoy your weekend and we\’ll do it all over again soon.
