Photoblogging the Revolution

It was a really nice day on Saturday here in D.C, so Estes and I decided to take a jaunt around town and enjoy the sun. Apparently, a number of Tea Party activists had the same idea, so we decided to take some pictures. Below is a photo-journal of sorts of our walk around the Capitol building, where the Tea Partiers had decided to scream about the government.

Approaching the rally. Estes gets a little hesitant. I say, “We didn’t bring the ring to Mordor to not enter.”

I appreciate this man’s work in defending our freedoms. We had originally seen him (and the t-shirt) from the front, but we couldn’t get a good incognito photo; luckily, it was on the back of his shirt as well.

This sign reads “How many Haitians have to die before you impeach Obama.” This is about where we realize that not everything is going to make sense here.

The crowd milling about.

These folks is plenty mad at the government or something.

Seems they’re not too psyched about gays either.

Not sure what this has to do with the socialist government takeover of health care, but okay.

Stop the insanity.

I wonder if this includes Thomas Jefferson. I don’t think it does.

We actually followed this flag around because we thought it had a hammer and sickle. Turns out it didn’t.

I’d say this was mean, but, really, if this lady thinks Pelosi’s crazy, I don’t want any part of what she considers sane.

We actually managed to find the only Communist Tea Partiers in existence. We can die fulfilled.

This sign doesn’t need anybody to hold it. It’s too full of selfish virtue to allow it.

Free ponies for poor people is actually on page 1454 of the bill. See: I knew you haven’t read it!

So this was some Fox News personality (no idea who) reporting live from the rally. He was actually directing the protesters to crowd together so it looked like there were a lot more people there on camera. He told the protesters that when the cameraman gave a signal to start chanting. It worked swimmingly.

Yes, you read that correctly: The reporter was directing the people at the protest. Moving on.

A break for mental health. Seriously, I had to take a picture of a puppy after being there and taking pictures of signs and people for a half hour.

This is something that’s always baffled me. They’re the patriots, but they don’t know how to properly treat a flag (it did touch the ground a few times, and they are absolutely not folding it). Or, maybe I’m kind of a crazy stickler for flag code.

Storming Rayburn.

It was good to see Tennessee representing.

In case it hasn’t been made obvious yet, these people do not like being treaded on.

Done. We needed beers.
